Robot Motors
There are two primary types of motors used for building robots. The most common motors used for robotics are DC motors and servo motors. Other motors such as linear actuators (for robot hands and arms), pneumatic cylinders (NASA and LEGO Mindstorm), and stepper motors are also used for specialty robots. Pneumatic cylinders, followed by DC motors, offer the best durability. Servo motors, followed by DC motors, offer the cheapest control options.
